Hillary Pugh Kent Tours NNMFHC
The Northern Neck–Middlesex Free Health Clinic (NNMFHC) was pleased to welcome Virginia Delegate Hillary Pugh Kent for a tour of the Clinic’s main facility in Kilmarnock, VA. During the visit, Delegate Kent met with Jeannie Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of NNMFHC, and Board Member Keith Fontenot to learn more about the Clinic’s mission and the many challenges in rural health care, especially that of accessibility to services.
The group discussed the increasing demand for essential medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services among uninsured and underinsured Virginians – a need that continues to grow as more residents face gaps in coverage, rising costs, and limited access to care.
“Our patients are facing increasing barriers to health care, and they tell us about this every day,” says CEO Jeannie Nelson. “Having Delegate Kent tour our facility and hear these stories directly from us is invaluable as we work together to address these challenges.”
Delegate Kent’s visit provided an important opportunity to highlight how critical community-supported health care is to the well-being of rural Virginians, as well as the vital role NNMFHC plays in filling these gaps. The Clinic looks forward to continued collaboration with state and local partners to ensure every neighbor has access to the care they deserve.
