KILMARNOCK, Va. — The Northern Neck–Middlesex Free Health Clinic (NNMFHC) has $54,000 left to raise toward a $150,000 Match Challenge and is asking the community to help close the remaining gap.
This Match Challenge was made possible by a generous anonymous donor who saw the growing need for accessible health care in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula and wanted to inspire others to help meet it. Their commitment gives the community an opportunity to make an even greater impact; but only if NNMFHC can reach the goal.
A Growing Need for Community Support
The Clinic is facing growing demand for its medical, dental, pharmacy and behavioral health services as more neighbors struggle with rising health care costs, unexpected changes in insurance coverage, rising premiums, and limited access to rural providers.
“We are incredibly grateful to the donor who recognized the need and stepped forward to challenge our community to do more,” said Jeannie Nelson, CEO of NNMFHC. “And we are deeply grateful to everyone who has already responded. Every gift, no matter the size, means one more person with nowhere to go can get the care they need.”
Community donations are the largest source of funding for NNMFHC’s patient services. Gifts from individuals, families, businesses, churches, and community organizations help keep essential services available to those who need them.
With anticipated Medicaid cuts and other changes to health care coverage, more people in the region may soon find themselves uninsured or unable to afford the care they need. NNMFHC expects demand for its services to continuously grow.
The Clinic Needs the Community Now
Approximately $54,000 remains to be raised. A gift of any size can help NNMFHC reach the $150,000 goal and continue caring for neighbors who face barriers to affordable health care.
A $20, $50, or even $100 gift may seem small, but when neighbors come together, those gifts add up.
NNMFHC has served eligible residents of Lancaster, Middlesex, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland counties since 1993. To make a gift for the Match Challenge, visit NNMFHC.org or contact NNMFHC at (804) 435-0575.
